Testimonial: Content creation at FeBi

FeBi vzw is an umbrella organisation that supports the private non-profit sector. It focuses on sustainable employment, support for at-risk groups and the professionalisation of employees through various projects.

With Opnieuw Aan Boord’, FeBi wants to offer an online learning programme to healthcare and other non-profit institutions and encourage them to create extra attention and space for long-term stress, burnout and well-being at work. The learning programme consists of 10 learning modules for different target groups (employees, managers, colleagues and buddies) who are confronted with (signs of) burnout. They learn to gain insight into their own stress symptoms, but also how they can support a colleague who has dropped out or have conversations about reintegration or preventive work adjustments.

The challenge

Creating an online learning programme to support people struggling with stress is no small feat! For example, how do you support someone who is at home with burnout via an online learning module? How do you achieve real behavioural change without personal contact? And how can the different target groups be given the same message and still feel connected to each other? FeBi approached The Learning Hub with these questions, and we knew just what to do.

Our solution

The look and feel of a module is always important, but for this project we didn’t want to simply apply the client’s corporate identity. We wanted to create an environment where the end user could experience peace and warmth. We did this with soft colours, pleasant voice-overs and light-hearted illustrations. Take a look for yourself at the teaser video of the project.

The primary goal of the learning modules is not to transfer knowledge, but to help the end user gain insights. To this end, the end user was presented with various reflection exercises. These exercises build on each other and the answers are collected in overviews that the end user can work with themselves. Furthermore, the content of the module also adapts to the situation in which the end user finds themselves: are they at home or still at work, for example?

Throughout the modules, we use case studies and testimonials. This allows employees to identify with the stories of others and managers to practise how they would respond in a similar situation.

Because communication and active listening are also important themes for managers and colleagues, we work with branched scenarios. The end user is presented with a situation and must choose how they would respond. The rest of the scenario then adapts to the chosen response. This allows the end user to practise decision-making and communication skills in potentially delicate situations in a safe environment

A great collaboration

The modules were not created solely on the basis of our didactic and technical expertise. To achieve a high-quality result, FeBi also called in two content partnersThe Human Link and Boost4Work. These psychologists were responsible for gathering the right content and insights and provided valuable feedback on our storyboards. Together with FeBi, The Human Link and Boost4Work, we decided on the right message, approach and tone of voice and came up with the best possible outcome.

We are very satisfied with the result and how TLH has translated the content into enjoyable and clear learning trajectories for our sectors. We had a short time frame, but thanks to clear project planning and good follow-up, we were able to complete this process with confidence.
