Komatsu is a global leader in the production of construction and mining machinery. Every three years, the company takes part in Bauma in Germany, one of the largest trade fairs in the industry.
Why did Komatsu reach out to The Learning Hub?
During a major event like Bauma, it’s crucial for sales representatives to have quick and easy access to the right product information. Visitors ask a wide range of questions, and it’s important that every representative can access the same clear, up-to-date information anywhere on the floor.
To address this, we developed a support module integrated into the Bauma app, accessible directly from smartphones. Unlike a traditional e-learning course, this solution focuses on providing fast, on-the-spot access to the most relevant information whenever it’s needed.
The challenge
Information at a trade fair needs to be concise, clear, and mobile-friendly. While sales representatives generally have a solid knowledge of the machines, they need a practical tool that allows them to quickly look up details and key selling points while speaking with visitors.
To meet this need, we created an interactive map of the exhibition floor. Users can click through each zone to view the machines displayed there, along with a brief summary of their main features and benefits. Thanks to the uniform structure, the information in every zone can be accessed in the same intuitive way.
Since the module would be used on smartphones, we designed it with a mobile-first approach in portrait mode. This ensures that information is always within reach, even in the hustle and bustle of the busy trade fair environment.
The result
The final product is a practical, mobile information module that supports sales representatives during the fair. The interactive map and well-structured summaries allow them to inform visitors quickly and professionally.
By hosting the module on Google Cloud and integrating it with the Bauma app, the information remains accessible anytime, anywhere. The result? Efficient and consistent communication, powered by a solution that perfectly meets the need for instant, on-the-spot information.
